Holly Copeland currently serves as the Director of Public Affairs & Corporate Social Responsibility at
Horizon Pharma, where she is in charge of driving Horizon’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts
and managing its Public Affairs. Additionally, Holly is also a board member at GoodCity (a non-profit
committed to identifying, starting and growing social entrepreneurs who are making a difference in
under-resourced communities in Chicago), an advisory board member at MATTER (a community of
healthcare entrepreneurs and industry leaders working together in a shared space to individually and
collectively fuel the future of healthcare innovation) and an advisory board member for the Il Institute of
Technology IPRO program, where she has provided guidance, mentoring and advice.
Prior to joining Horizon Pharma, Holly was the Deputy Director of the Office of Entrepreneurship,
Innovation & Technology (EIT), housed within the Il Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity.
The management of EIT involved the direct oversight of 20+ staff and a $144 million portfolio that
provided technical assistance and financial support for Illinois’ small businesses and innovation
ecosystem. While in that position, Holly also made strategic investments that targeted the inclusion of
women, girls and communities of color in the innovation space.
Holly has also served as the CEO of a privately held, boutique consulting firm, was President of the
Illinois Inaugural Committee, Governor Quinn’s Chief Operating Officer and Director of Development for
a statewide non-profit organization.
Holly has a Master’s Degree from Washington University in St. Louis in International
Affairs/International Political Economy, a Master’s Degree from UofI in Public Administration and an
undergrad from UofI in Business Administration. She was a YWCA Woman of Excellence nominee, is an
active volunteer at her local Food Pantry and the proud mother of two curious & creative daughters.
