Manuel Ozaeta is the Director of Membership at 1871. In this role he supports and facilitates the needs of new and current members at 1871. Ozaeta brings with him a wealth of experience through a diverse background in communications, legislative affairs, and customer service. Previously, Ozaeta was a Senior Communications Consultant at a boutique public affairs firm in Chicago and has served as a legislative aide in the United States House of Representatives.
Ozaeta has also worked within the press and communication departments of the Office of the Mayor in Chicago, the British Consulate General in Chicago, and the Office of Senator Richard Durbin- IL, in Washington, D.C.
Further, Ozaeta has been recognized for outstanding customer service through his role as an inflight crewmember for a major U.S. carrier.
Ozaeta received his undergraduate degree from DePaul University and a Master’s in Public Policy from Northwestern University. A native Spanish speaker, he hails from Texas but now resides in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago with his partner and two Yorkies.
